1Syllable will soon be offering accessible programmes that use simple improvisation and choreography to support self-expression, personal growth, and connection. Quarterly classes for adults (18+) combine structured contemporary fusion training with opportunities for improvisation, reflection and creative exploration. Annual Community-Centred Events welcome participants of all ages and include open workshops, creative labs and participatory sessions that invite the public to move, connect and discover together, providing a shared space for creative expression, identity exploration and stronger community connections.

We are committed to providing a respectful, non-judgemental and inclusive environment for all participants.

Everyone’s boundaries, pace and personal comfort will be honoured.

Participation in all movement activities is at your own pace, with the option to observe or modify at any time.


Confidentiality is respected, personal sharing stays within the group.


Personal Item / Prop Policy:

Participants may bring a meaningful personal item to use as a prop or to keep with them throughout the class for comfort and inspiration.

This item must be approved by a member of the 1syllable team at least 72 hours before the class for safety and suitability.


Approved items will be used respectfully and returned to participants at the end of the session.
